Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, and the choices you have.
This policy explains how Fintog ("we", "us") handles personal data when you use www.fintog.com and the Fintog app at app.fintog.com. It is intended to meet our obligations under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The data we collect
When you create and use an account
- Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your password in hashed form.
- If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, your name and verified email address from that provider.
- Company details, such as your company name, address, state, GSTIN, PAN and bank details.
- The accounting records you enter or upload, such as vouchers, ledgers, bank statements, invoices and party details. These can include personal data about your customers, vendors and employees, such as names, contact details, tax identifiers and salary figures.
For personal data in your own accounting records, you decide why and how it is used, and we process it on your behalf to provide the service. You are responsible for having a valid basis for entering it.
When you contact us
The name, email address, company and message you send through our contact form or by email.
When you visit our website
Usage information, such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, and your approximate location from your IP address. See our cookie policy.
How we use it
- To provide, maintain and secure Fintog, and to sign you in.
- To send emails the service needs, such as email verification, password resets, team invitations and the vouchers you choose to send.
- To reply to your messages and provide support.
- To understand how the website and product are used, and to improve them.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who processes it
We rely on these service providers to run Fintog:

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business, subject to this policy.
Where data is stored and transferred
Uploaded documents are stored in Amazon Web Services' Mumbai region. Some of the providers above may process data outside India, as permitted by law.
How long we keep it
We keep account and accounting data while your account is active, and for as long as needed afterwards to meet legal, tax and audit requirements, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up.
How we protect it
Our security page describes the measures in place. No online service can guarantee complete security, so please use a strong password and tell us if you think your account has been compromised.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to:
- Give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
- Correct, complete or update your personal data.
- Erase your personal data, where we are not required to keep it.
- Withdraw a consent you gave us. This will not affect processing that has already taken place.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so.
To use these rights, or to raise a complaint, email support@fintog.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Fintog is a business product and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email or in the app.
